The Small Business Website Launch Checklist

A clear, useful checklist for publishing a trustworthy business website.

A short launch review helps catch details that are easy to miss when you are focused on building. Work through the basics before sharing your website widely.

Content and trust

  • Explain what the business offers and who it serves.
  • Use clear calls to action and working contact details.
  • Proofread names, prices, dates, and policy copy.
  • Replace sample images and placeholder text.

Technical checks

  • Test the site on a phone, tablet, and desktop.
  • Confirm HTTPS is working without mixed-content warnings.
  • Try every form, menu item, button, and account link.
  • Set the intended homepage and check important page URLs.
  • Review page titles, descriptions, and social preview images.

After launch

Keep software current, monitor forms and contact routes, and know how to restore the site from a tested backup. Launch day starts the maintenance routine; it does not end it.
